The Basics
Life insurance is a contract where an insurance company agrees to pay a lump sum (called a "death benefit") to your designated beneficiaries when you pass away, in exchange for regular premium payments. You need it if anyone depends on your income — a spouse, children, aging parents — or if you have debts like a mortgage that would burden your family.
Term life covers you for a set period (10, 20, or 30 years). It's affordable and straightforward. If you outlive the term, coverage ends with no payout. Whole life covers you for your entire lifetime, never expires, and builds cash value over time that you can borrow against. Most people benefit from having a combination of both.
A common starting point is 10–12x your annual income. But the right amount depends on your debts, number of dependents, lifestyle, and long-term goals. I'll walk you through a personalized needs analysis during your free consultation — no guesswork.
Much less than most people think. A healthy 30-year-old can get solid coverage for as little as $20–$30 per month. The younger and healthier you are when you apply, the lower your premiums will be — and they stay locked in for the life of your policy.
Work Coverage
Usually not. Employer-sponsored group life insurance typically only covers 1–2x your salary, which is rarely enough to replace income long-term. More importantly, that coverage disappears the moment you leave your job — whether you quit, get laid off, or retire. You're most likely to need coverage after your career ends, not during it.
In most cases, your group coverage ends when you stop working. Some plans allow you to "convert" to an individual policy, but at much higher rates since you're older. This is why it's critical to get your own permanent policy while you're young and healthy — so you're not scrambling to find coverage at 65.
The Process

Many of our policies are simplified issue — meaning no medical exam is required. You'll answer a few health questions, and coverage decisions are typically made quickly. Even if you have some health conditions, there may still be options available to you.
For many policies, you can get approved and covered the same day we talk. For others, it may take a few days to a couple weeks depending on underwriting. I'll be transparent with you about timelines throughout the process.
Families & Special Cases
Getting life insurance on your children while they're young locks in low rates for life and builds cash value they can use as adults. It also guarantees their future insurability — if they develop a health condition later, they'll already have coverage that can never be taken away.
